Liverpool captain, Jordan Henderson has blamed the Reds’ players following their 2-1 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in Wednesday’s Champions League fixture played at the Parc des Princes Stadium.
Juan Bernat and Neymar scored for hosts, before James Milner pulled one back from the spot before half time for the visitors.
Henderson said Jurgen Klopp’s side were defeated by PSG because the players think they were good enough to beat the French Ligue 1 champions at their home.
“We are disappointed because we think we are good enough to come here and win,” Metro UK quoted Henderson as saying at post-match.
“It wasn’t our night in the end but we had the boost at half time and we kept going. Now we have just got to keep it in our own hands by winning back at Anfield.”
Liverpool now need to beat Napoli at Anfield next month, to progress to the knockout stages of the Champions League.
Klopp’s men will now tackle Arsenal this weekend at Emirates club in the Premier League fixture.
