Atiku, PDP dancing on graves of soldiers killed by Boko Haram – APC

0

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and his party, are dancing on the graves of fallen soldiers.

Atiku had commented on the death of soldiers to Boko Haram attacks, while his party (the PDP) alleged that the Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali, diverted funds for the military to the APC campaign.

But in a statement on Tuesday, APC’s spokesman, Lanre Issa-Onilu, said the comment of the PDP is “callous and insensitive to the families and dependants” of the late soldiers.

“The allegations by the PDP that military funds have been diverted to finance the 2019 election campaigns of the APC is a sad reminder of the evil and retrogressive practices the PDP was notorious for during its defunct rule.

“God forbid that the APC inherits and apply such morbid practice as brazenly displayed during the immediate past PDP administration where funds allocated to fight the Boko Haram insurgency in the north-east were shared among PDP leaders and their cronies.

“It is clear that the PDP and its presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar have decided to dance on the graves of our valiant and patriotic soldiers by politicising their deaths in the recent Boko Haram attack on the Nigerian army Metele base.

“The PDP and Atiku are playing desperate politics where even the blood of our fallen heroes is fair game. Their actions are callous and insensitive to the families and dependants of the late soldiers and indeed our military which battles daily to ensure our territorial integrity.

“Nigerians see through PDP’s ploy to score political points as elections approach and it will surely backfire. While the APC mourns the death of our military and other security personnel who have lost their lives in the line of duty, we urge them to remain focussed on the brave task of securing the nation.

“The President Muhammadu Buhari-led APC administration remains solidly committed to bringing lasting peace and security to all parts of the country and ensuring that previously displaced persons are rehabilitated to resume their normal and productive lives,” Issa-Onilu said.

Last week, the Islamic State in West Africa (ISWA) faction of Boko Haram attacked 157 task force battalion of the Nigerian army in Metele, Borno, killing about 100 soldiers.

Five persons were confirmed dead on Tuesday while two others sustained injuries in an accident involving a Subaru car and a Honda bus at Orile Imo area along the Sagamu/Abeokuta expressway.

Babatunde Akinbiyi, the Public Relations Officer, Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) in Ogun, confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abeokuta.

Akinbiyi stated that the accident was caused by over-speeding which made the driver of the Honda bus with registration number EKY 365 FB to lose control.

The TRACE spokesman said the driver veered into the other lane and collided with the Subaru car with registration number KTU 246 AT inbound Abeokuta.

He added that seven males were involved in the accident, saying that five of them died while two others sustained injuries.

“The accident happened around 7:15 am. The Honda was coming from Abeokuta, lost control, veered into the other lane and collided with the Subaru car which was going toward Abeokuta.

“Three people were initially injured and four died instantly. However, a post-crash report indicates that another of the injured victims has also died bringing the number of the dead to five and two injured,’’ he said.

Akinbiyi disclosed that the corpses of the dead have been deposited at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH) morgue, while the injured were receiving treatment at the same hospital.

He further urged motorists and other road users to be cautious and ensure that their vehicles were in good condition before embarking on any journey.

Boko Haram: IPOB mocks Nigerian Army, blasts Buhari govt over killings

0

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has mocked the Nigerian army over recent massacre by the Boko Haram insurgents.

It expressed shock that Nigerian security forces, who according to it, have been receiving random killings from Boko Haram terrorists without retaliation and resistance would be going round the South-East where unarmed civilians are carrying out peaceful rally.

The group however stated that it will continue to press for the liberation of the people of South-East, while commending its members for remaining steadfast to the struggle.

This was contained in a statement made available to Veloxnews today, which read, “We the global family of the indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB) consider it important to commend every IPOB member and our gallant volunteers who made it possible on our last outing with those Biafrans who participated during the last peaceful rally across Biafraland.

“The last peaceful event across Biafraland on Friday proves the total fomidablity and resoluteness on the side of Biafran citizens towards the efforts and pursuit for Biafra freedom.

“The one and only IPOB ably led by our supreme leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu must continue our evangelism and sensitization for Biafra referendum no matter the threats from Nigerian government and her security agencies.

“It is very pathetic and unbelievable to all Nigerians that Nigerian security forces who has been receiving serious and random killings from Boko Haram terrorists operating in the North East of the country without retaliation and resistance would summoned the courage and temerity by going round Biafraland where unarmed civilians were doing peaceful rally with attack which they cannot confront and withstand Boko Haram terrorist.

“It is important we remind Nigeria Government and her security forces that days are coming when they will not come behind IPOB members anywhere around Biafraland.

“During the recent peaceful rally conducted by IPOB leadership worldwide across Biafraland only police in Anambra State attacked our people because governor of Anambra State Chief William Obiano permitted them to do so.

“According to the IPOB intelligence discovery Obiano has once again started to instruct Nigerian security agencies to go after innocent citizens or anybody suspected to be IPOB member, which we all are aware that moved all the security operatives going house to house in search of innocent and unarmed civilians whom they suspect to be IPOB member.

“We wonder why Nigerian government and her security agencies including Gov. Obiano would accuse IPOB members for their missing guns and rifles, if there is any because Nigeria security agencies especially corrupt Nigerian Police has always been feeding the public with crude lies against the innocent people in the country.

“IPOB doesn’t move with guns and cannot do so until Biafra sovereignty is restored.

“We are warning Nigeria Government headed by Fulani caliphate including the Nigerian Police to leave IPOB family alone and release those arrested unjustly in the name of arresting IPOB members now it will cause more damage, harm and misery in the remaining deteriorated image they are managing in the police hierarchy.

“IPOB family worldwide will not succumb to any intimidation and blackmail from any corner because Biafra freedom is ordained by Most High God the of Heaven and Earth, therefore it is crystal clear that no man born of a woman can stop Biafra sovereignty.

“We are blaming those Nigerians especially those politicians and their advisers for the woes of Nigeria because they thought that equating peaceful Biafra agitation with terrorist group in the North can solve this agitations for Biafra freedom.

“Our resolve for Biafra independence cannot stop because those who feels that it is good to use attack and brutal force to stop Biafra coming into reality will fail.

“The clueless government and politicians in Nigeria has failed once again to tell Nigerians the simple truth that Biafra agitations today is important to international community and also a global issue because of her effortless sense of style and measures used against IPOB family since 2015.”

Lagos 2019: Sanwo-Olu will sustain my policies – Ambode

0

The Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has declared that the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate in next year’s election, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, would sustain his policies if voted in as the governor of the state.

Ambode said this on Monday while presenting cheques to another batch of over 2,000 beneficiaries of the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) loan programme at the LTV Blue Roof, Ikeja.

While charging the beneficiaries to use the funds to grow their businesses and pay back as and when due, he expressed optimism about the sustainability of the scheme, saying it was instructive that Sanwo-Olu has already expressed commitment to the initiative.

The Governor said the initiative was meeting his objectives of creating jobs and contributing to the growth of the economy.

This is in addition to the over 10,000 beneficiaries who have received more than N7billion and have created over 25,000 new jobs in the last three years.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony held at LTV Blue Roof, Agidingbi, Ikeja, Governor Ambode expressed fulfillment that the initiative, which is a brain child of his administration, has positively impacted many Lagosians and help to scale up entrepreneurship with many businesses now thriving.

“Today is a historic day. It is one of those days that we have this fulfilment that we tried our hands on something that was never done before and years after, we are able to see the result and I just want to say a big thank you to all of you that have accepted to be partners in this programme and to just congratulate ourselves that a day like this can come in Lagos State.

“I am particularly delighted to be here today to see for myself the manifestation of a small dream we had at the inception of this government and the little seed we have sown in the lives and businesses of Lagosians. The Employment Trust Fund was a promise we made to Lagosians in 2015 and today, I am happy to see the faces of the people whose lives and aspirations have been positively impacted by this programme,” Ambode said.

While noting the positive difference the beneficiaries of the scheme were making in the state, the Governor said the wonderful stories about the initiative were the true outcomes of governance, saying the vision was to use it to grow the Lagos economy by supporting entrepreneurship, which in turn, would help to create jobs for unemployed residents.

He stated that in line with his promise of inclusive governance, the beneficiaries of the LSETF programmes range from the youth to senior citizens in active business across all 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and 37 Local Community Development Areas (LCDAs) in Lagos, adding that the positive stories emanating from beneficiaries were pleasing to note.

“A very big validation of this programme we have embarked upon comes from the over 25,000 new direct jobs created directly by these businesses in our State. This does not include the multiplier effect of those businesses on the Lagos economy and the indirect jobs created.

“Apart from the jobs being created, I am especially pleased to see testimonials from some of our beneficiaries. I watched the video of Ibrahim Shuaib; a final year student of Dentistry at the Lagos State University Medical School. With a loan of N250,000, Ibrahim has not only grown his dry-cleaning business, employing over 20 people, but also started another business which his sister runs.

“I also read about Femi Oyedipe, whose chocolate production business, Loshes Chocolate, can now produce ten times more than before, employing more Lagosians as staff. Apart from employing more people, Loshes Chocolate makes it products from cocoa beans sourced from Ondo State, creating value for farmers outside Lagos. This is a very good example of the inter-state economic partnership Nigeria needs to grow its economy,” he said.

Aside the loan, the Governor said he was also proud of another programme of the LSETF known as the Lagos Employability Support Programme being executed in partnership with the United Nations Development Fund (UNDP), revealing that 3,363 unemployed youth have so far been trained out of the 10,000 target, with over 1,100 of them now either employed or running their own businesses.

Omotola compares Nigeria to Ghana, mocks leaders

0

Veteran actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has taken a swipe at Nigerian leaders over the state of the nation’s economy.

The 40-year-old actress, in a post on her Instagram page during a visit to Ghana, decried the exchange rate of Naira to the Ghanaian Cedi, questioning the rate of economic growth in Nigeria vis-a-vis Ghana.

She also commended services at Ghana’s airport from immigration officials.

Omotola wrote: “So Economists, come and analyze oh… this amongst other things was quite alarming on my trip to Ghana. I changed N10,000 (Ten thousand Naira) and it was only worth C120 ( One hundred and twenty cedis) Not C1,200 and certainly not 12,000 cedis but a mere 120 cedis!!!

“1 dollar in Ghana is 4.8 cedis! Ghana must go and they have gone, are they moving faster than us?

“I don’t want to talk about the airport, Tubaba has already talked about that but I forgot both my phones while signing the immigration cards, about 10mins later, it was announced to pick them up at guest services! Ha!”

Veloxnews recalls that music Legend, Tuface had in a viral video slammed Nigerian leaders as he landed in Accra, Ghana for a visit.

In the video at Kotoka airport, Tuface, who was impressed by the look of the airport, said, “You dey see levels for here, shame no dey catch some people for the other side?”

Eye problem: How this tiny pill restores sights, saves thousands from going blind [SPONSORED]

0

If you are over 35… and… you have any problems with your eyes… and… you REALLY want to see better without eye glasses or contact lens, I bet this is going to be the most important message you will read this year!

Dear friend,

I am “Officer” Kenneth, I. E… and, the first thing you should know about me is… I am not a doctor.  I’m not an expert on nutrition either. I never went to medical college and I don’t have a degree in anything except that which I obtained in my marine field.

But aside my job, the other thing I consider myself “expert” about is…

I Know How Any Person In NIGERIA Can Regain Their Lost Vision In A Very Easy Way!.

I know… because… I CONQUER it.

This ‘tiny pill” I used that has worked for me and 85,912+ others – work on the following conditions:

 https://naturalhealthpal.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/eyedisordersextra.jpg

…And Other Numerous Eye Problems.

Here’s why: As you know, when we get older we usually begin to experience problems with our eyes and our vision. This causes many people to need eye surgery so they have the best vision possible.

Why? Because, usually after the age of 45, the lens in our eyes begin to harden due to natural causes. Our vision becomes cloudy and the lens itself turns brown, blocking off our field of vision.

The truth is, if you live long enough, I can almost guarantee you will develop Cataracts or Glaucoma. It’s a natural condition that affects almost everybody at some point in his or her later life.

In fact, there are over three hundred thousand eye surgeries performed, each year, in Nigeria alone …many of which, are performed by inexperienced doctors in less than perfect conditions.

This has led to some scary stories on how some of these operations have gone wrong for some patients.

I’d like to emphasize once more that …too many Eyes surgeries are being performed in less than perfect condition all over the country. Those rooms are not even clean, much less sterile. And the environmental conditions are not controllable.

Unfortunately, too many surgeons are putting their own financial interests ahead of their patient’s interests.

As you may or may not know, The Big Drug Companies Are Cheating Everyone Who Is Trying To Regain Lost Sight!

They do this in two different ways.

First of all, they try to keep us from finding out about safe, cheap ways to Reverse Glaucoma, cataracts, myopia and other eyes problems… without… going for surgery.

The second way they cheat us is, they sell us millions and millions of naira’ worth of prescription Glasses/lens that are worthless. Not only that, many of these glasses are very dangerous, …and they create a sort of refractive errors to our optic nerves.

Why am I telling you this?

…Because, for the first time EVER, I’ve decided to publicly reveal the Secret pill, which has helped reverse my Glaucoma and cataract, combined. And I’m revealing this to a very small select group of people.

On this link.

I have revealed the secret your doctor hasn’t told you about your eyes problems, and why you should know it… Plus… I’ve gone ahead to reveal the Magical eye pill he wished you never find out.

  • My cataract that was due for the third operation in a row was gone forever!

  • I don’t use glasses any longer!

  • I can now drive at night and watch Tv just like everyone else with perfect sight!

  • No more seeing eyes… I’M FREE!

I’ve been on TV, I’ve been on radio, I’ve been written up in many newspapers and my story is all around social medias. And guess what? Everybody — and I mean everybody — wants to know my secret. Well, I can’t blame them. And now, with your permission, I’m going to reveal it to you! Look, I don’t mean to brag, but I’m pretty proud of myself. The doctors couldn’t help me. All those eyes “experts” couldn’t help me. Even my family couldn’t help me. (But God bless them for trying.) I didn’t get help from Dr Patterson, possibly the best eye surgeon in Canada or anybody else. No, I did it all on my own and I learned how to do it fast and cheap.

Let’s talk about money. I heard on the news the other day that the average person who performs eye surgery with optometrist pays about NGN400, 000 or more… to do it.

It’s manufactured in china and administered for the United States FDA approval under strict C.G.M.P. certification (Current Good Manufacturing Practices), Plus, it’s approved by NAFDAC! …So, you can be confident it’s a safe and healthy supplement.

Are you having trouble believing all this? That’s okay – I’m used to people being suspicious… at first. But the truth is… You must experience it yourself to believe.

Police gun down notorious armed robber, recover AK47 rifle in Delta

0

The Delta State Police Command in collaboration with the 3 Battalion of the Nigerian Army in Effurun, in the early hours of Tuesday, gunned down a notorious armed robber and recovered an AK 47 rifle in Warri, Delta State, Veloxnews can report.

Other members of the notorious gang scampered from the scene of incident following the superior fire of the police.

It was learnt that the notorious gang specialises in killing policemen and carting away their rifles.

It was gathered that the police operatives led by the Divisional Police Officer “C” Division Asaba, CSP Anieteh Eyoh trailed the deceased armed robber and his gang who engaged them (the police) in a fierce gun battle, to Warri based on information.

In the process, the notorious armed robber was arrested in the Effurun axis but was allegedly shot dead by the police when he attempted to escape.

In a text message to Veloxnews, the Commissioner of Police in Delta State, CP Muhammad Mustafa simply said the report is “confirmed”.

2019: Buhari speaks on youths engaging in sports betting

0

The presidential candidate of the Sustainable National Party (SNP), Ahmed Buhari, yesterday expressed his view on the trend of youths engaging in sports betting to make a living.

He said it was a shame for Nigeria that sports betting has become the source of livelihood for millions of youths owing to the level of unemployment in the country.

Speaking when he featured as a guest on Channel TV’s Politics Today in Abuja, Buhari said: “The only thing that is keeping millions of young people on the streets going is that they turn to God, they forget that there is a government and they hold onto sports betting. Thanks to Akin Alabi for what he is doing.”

According to him, the government needed to make more electric power available for the private sector to thrive and create job opportunities for the teeming youths as a way of reversing the trend.

He said: “We need to understand that government has no business doing business. The primary goal of government is to put regulations on how the private sector runs itself, and make sure there are checks and balances to ensure that the private sector is sustainable.

“Why we cannot generate the internally generated revenue we ought to is because most of the companies are paying more for fuel (power) than they are paying for anything else. Power is actually the missing element to jumpstart this economy and create jobs.(for the youths).”

He also said that opening up the oil sector and allowing private individuals invest in and run the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, would move the economy forward in terms of revenue generation and efficiency.

His words: “I think we should open-up the NNPC, put it on the stock market and see how individuals can actually buy shares into the NNPC.

“As we are running it right now, I don’t see why the government should be at the helm of affairs when it comes to the NNPC. It is holding us back and putting too much pressure on how things are supposed to be done. The most scary part is that there is no accountability and transparency. This has killed efficiency from this sector.”
