Tolu Egbeyemi emerges EKSU Alumni Lagos Chairman, sets agenda


Mr Tolu Egbeyemi, a seasoned Business Developer, Tax Administrator and a Literary Artist, has emerged as new Chairman of the Ekiti State University (EKSU) Alumni Association, Lagos Chapter.

Egbeyemi emerged as a consensus candidate after his closest rival, Mr Dare Dada, stepped down in the spirit of camaraderie from their high school days.

After the election which took place at NERDC Conference Centre in Alausa, Ikeja in Lagos, Egbeyemi announced his agenda, with a promise to work with all the elected exco members, stakeholders and those willing to join him move the alumni to the next level.

He said: “After due deliberations in the executive committee, we wish to inform you that all alumni that are willing and ready to identify with Lagos Chapter are welcome. We also want to thank them in advance for showing their readiness to support and contribute their quotas to the development of this chapter, our alumni and our alma mater at large”.

The alumni association chairman listed his six-point agenda as: “To harmonize the 3 generations (OSUA, UNAD & EKSU) into one big family.

“To support our alma mater by adding value to the infrastructure & intellectual content of EKSU.

“To project our brand in a positive way that gives credence to the quality of our products.

“To improve relationships beyond electronic platforms by creating personal and business value to members through networking.

“To promote EKSU as a tertiary research centre.

“To support Trusts/Foundations for a coordinated developments in EKSU.”

Some national leaders of the alumni, who graced the convention, were: Asiwaju Adedotun Adetunberu, National Chairman; Segun Odidi, National Secretary General; Chief Fadimiluyi, Former Chairman of the Chapter, a member of the National Executive Council and the election committee chairman, Bayo Naiyeju, a top management staff at Federal Inland Revenue Service and Ambassador Dayo Adeoye who represented the diplomatic corps.

Mr. Ope Allen, an I.T expert with Globacom, who emerged as Secretary General, said “We will collaborate with the National Executive, School Management and the State Government to ensure Ekiti State University takes its rightful place in the comity of Universities across Africa and imprint its name on the world academic institutions”.

Meanwhile, the inaugural meeting of the new exco will take place on Sunday, December 9 at Hedge Suites, Victoria Island in Lagos.
