Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri has disclosed that he “needs” to sign two players this January transfer window.
He also admitted that he is not in control of Chelsea’s transfer market.
The Blues boss stated this ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League clash with Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.
The Italian gaffer is eager to strengthen his squad this month so as to compete with the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur for the Premier League title.
“As you know very well I am not in control of the transfer market,” Sarri was quoted by Metro UK as saying in Friday’s press conference.
“In my opinion, we need two players, but then it is up to the club.”
Sarri added: “Of course Loftus is out at the moment. “Yesterday Alvaro had training with the team-mates so we have to see the last training today… I hope he will be able to play.”
