The lawmaker representing Kaduna Central at the upper legislative chamber, Senator Shehu Sani, has reacted to the protest by staff of the National Assembly over unpaid salaries.
Veloxnews reported yesterday that staff of National Assembproly blocked the entrance to the legislative chambers and stopped lawmakers from accessing their offices.
The staff were protesting the failure of the National Assembly leadership to pay their salaries.
Senator Sani said the protesters were right to demand their legitimate rights, adding that the leadership of NASS had already swung into action.
He tweeted, “Today the staff of the NASS denied us entry into the chambers in protest for their entitlements.
“I ran into the protesters chanting solidarity songs. They have the right to protest and their demands are legitimate.
“The leadership of NASS is in talks to resolve the issues squarely.”
