APC may not survive beyond 2023 –Atiku

From Ndubuisi Orji, AbujaPeoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has said the All Progressives Congress (APC) may not survive beyond 2023.He stated this, yesterday,  at the launch of PDP Youths  2023 Campaign Council, describing the PDP as the only political party in the country. He said APC was not a political party, but an alliance between the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) and defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and that it might not see the light of the day after next year’s election.“To be honest,  PDP is the only political party, APC is not a political party, it is an alliance between the CPC and Tinubu’s party, and we have seen how alliances in this country has disappeared over night.  I don’t think APC would survive after this election, we are going to vote them out and by the time we vote them out, they will be dead.”The former vice president said the 2023 presidential poll  was about the youths and that the APC had dashed the hopes of  citizens in its last seven and half-year reign and could offer no change in the next six months. He said his five-point agenda would help to rescue the country while tasking the youth campaign council to reach out to Nigerians and canvass for votes.“Let me, therefore, charge you with the responsibility of making sure that you carry the message of PDP to the nooks and crannies of the country.“Also, fundamentally the message of sustained democracy, this democracy some of us fought for it, all our lives. Many of us have sacrificed our lives and today you have freedom of speech, movement, and freedom of everything simply because some of us have sacrificed our lives to make sure there is democracy in this country. This is the fundamental message we are expecting you to take to all the nooks and crannies of your constituency.  The youth council is another step to further enthroned democracy, sustain democracy in our country through our own political parties. Therefore I charge you to mobilise all Nigerians in particular PDP supporters.”Deputy national chairman (North) for PDP, Umar Damagum, who represented the national chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, said the 2023 elections presented an opportunity for youths in the country to take their destiny into their hands.“We have laid down a framework for you to campaign with, our previous achievements have sealed it all, when we were in government during Obasanjo and Atiku and during the administration of Goodluck Jonathan. Everything good that happened in this country happened at that time. So, you have parameters.“It is another opportunity for you to redress what is happening in this country, it is another opportunity for you to belong because the only party that has your interest at heart is the Peoples Democratic Party,” he said.
