Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has admitted that Arsenal “deserve” to be top of the Premier League.
Guardiola made the comments after his side beat Chelsea 1-0 at Stamford Bridge on Thursday night.
Riyad Mahrez and Jack Grealish combined for the winning goal just 3 minutes and 43 seconds after they were both brought on by the City boss.
The result sees the champions cut Arsenal’s lead at the top to five points after Mikel Arteta’s men were held to a 0-0 draw by Newcastle on Tuesday.
“There are 63 points still left to play for, we have to continue to improve ourselves.
“After four [Premier League wins] in five years it’s not easy to push them again, that’s why I’m satisfied.
“We prefer to be closer but the way Arsenal have played they deserve to be there,” Guardiola said.
