Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand, has questioned his former club over winger Jadon Sancho’s absence.
Ferdinand said Man United should clarify if Sancho is not fit physically or mentally, adding that Erik ten Hag’s side need the England star back.
Sancho has missed Manchester United’s last nine matches this season.
The former Borussia Dortmund star had been training away from his Manchester United teammates.
“Jadon Sancho is an interesting one man,” Ferdinand said on the Vibe with Five YouTube channel.
“He has gone away and he is doing personal training somewhere. I don’t know what has happened or what is behind all this. I don’t know what it is.
“Is he not fit, or is it mental? What are they seeing at United? It would be nice to get that clarity.
“Sancho is a south London boy, so I care about him and want him to do well.
“United actually need him right now, they need another player because the depth on the bench is not great.”
