Former Manchester United defender, Gary Neville, has called Arsenal “the 2022/2023 champions” ahead of Tuesday’s Premier League fixture against Newcastle United.
Mikel Arteta’s men are currently seven points ahead of champions Manchester City and nine ahead of the Magpies.
The Gunners will be hoping to maintain their title push when they host Eddie Howe’s men.
Neville had tweeted that “Are Chelsea paying €127m for Enzo Fernandez? That’s one hell of a price. A very good player but bloody hell!”
An Arsenal fan responded, saying, “You never said anything about £80M for Harry Maguire, €100M for Antony or £73M for Jadon Sancho but Arsenal paying £50M for Ben White or Chelsea paying €127M for Enzo is where you find your voice.”
To which Neville replied: “Relax Arsenal fans I’m coming to see the 2022/23 champions tonight. Congratulations”.
