Tottenham Hotspur manager, Antonio Conte has said the club needs steady investment to become title contenders.
Conte was speaking after a 2-0 home defeat to Aston Villa on New Year’s Day.
Emi Buendia and Luiz Douglas scored the goals to ensure Spurs got 2023 off on a bad note.
Conte’s men are now in fifth place, 13 points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal.
“At the start of the season I was very clear with the club.
“I said ‘ok we can be competitive to win but try to continue to improve but in the way that we can do it,’ because also you have to know that there are clubs who can invest 200 or 300 million and others with different policies,” he said.
