Prince Harry and Meghan could return to the UK for a party in honour of Princess Diana.

The Sussexes are said to be weighing up whether to join Harry’s brother William, Elton John and around 100 others at the re-arranged bash.

The party was supposed to go ahead after the unveiling of the Diana statue in July to mark what would have been her 60th birthday.

Harry, 37, flew back for the scaled-down event without Meghan, 40, who had just given birth to their daughter Lilibet.

But a reception was shelved due to Covid-19 restrictions.

The party to honour Di with her friends and family will now take place at Kensington Palace a week on Tuesday.

It was always thought Harry wanted to return for the celebration, though it is understood he has yet to make palace chiefs or the reception organisers aware of his plans.

An insider told The Sun: ‘No one knows what Harry’s decision is but there are rumblings that he may come with Meghan and their two children.’

Travel restrictions from the US have now been lifted so the couple, who live in California, would not have to quarantine.

The potential return comes amid an ongoing rift sparked by Harry and Meghan’s truth bomb interviews in recent months.

After their dramatic exit from the royal family last year, the couple went on to accuse the institution of racism and neglect.

Harry and William have met only a handful of times since – first for Prince Philip’s funeral and then for the unveiling of their mother’s statue.

Majesty Magazine editor-in-chief Ingrid Seward, said of the reception: ‘You would have thought it would definitely be something Harry would really want to be at.

‘I can’t imagine anything less important for him because he would want to respect his mother.

‘It is an important gathering of his mother’s friends. He could even get a few quotes for his memoir.

‘I am sure Meghan would want to be there for Diana and Harry.’
