Former England striker Michael Owen has hailed Chelsea’s latest recruit, Mykhailo Mudryk, following the Ukrainian’s debut for Chelsea against Liverpool on Saturday.
Mudryk was brought on in the 55th minute to help Graham Potter’s side push for a win at Anfield during the 0-0 stalemate.
The former Shakhtar Donetsk forward showed a lot of promise with some good runs and taking on defenders. He also missed an opportunity, putting the ball into side-netting.
Owen said he was excited by the way the 22-year-old has started his Chelsea career, describing him as absolutely brilliant.
Asked if he was excited by the Ukrainian’s performance, the former Liverpool, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Newcastle United striker said on Premier League Productions, “Yes, He brought a bit of life and attacking flair and directness to the game for Chelsea. I think if you come on and start off like this, you’ll believe that you can do anything.
“Two quick great touches there. He was unbelievable. I know he is quick…if I’m a Chelsea fan I’ll be excited. He’s absolutely brilliant. I think he could be anything. Really really exciting.”
