NNPP reps candidate sink borehole for constituents in Benue


From Scholastica Onyeka, MakurdiRelief has come the way of Tsem Mbaaka people in Ushongo Local Government Area of Benue state who are now enjoying clean and portable water following the sinking of a borehole in the community by the NNPP House of Representatives candidate for Kwande/Ushongo Constituency, Professor Kohol Iornem.Speaking while inaugurating the water Project at the weekend, Professor Iornem said he was deeply concerned with the challenge of clean water in the community and decided to provide the facility to safeguard the people from waterborne diseases and the risks associated with travelling far distances to get water from the streams.Iornem also donated hospital beds, pillows, curtains, drugs and mosquito nets to the Primary Healthcare Centre in Tomohar in Mbaviende, Ushongo Local Government which his NGO, the Menroi Foundation recently renovated.Receiving the medical supplies on behalf of management, the Matron of the Health Centre, Mrs Tabitha Ako, expressed appreciation for the gesture, saying the facility is now able to treat people in a very conducive environment.Members of the community, who also conveyed their gratitude to the NNPP House of Representatives candidate, noted that many politicians in the past made empty promises to fix the hospital but Iornem has proven to be different.They unanimously agreed to massively vote for him in the coming elections so that he can do more in the area of health and other basic social amenities like pipe-borne water.He also solicited the support of Katyough community to emerge victorious at the polls saying their mandate to represent them at the green chambers will enable him to attract more dividends of democracy to their doorsteps.
