Piers Morgan has paid a heartbroken tribute to his parents’ beloved dog who has died aged 14.
Most of us know how difficult it is to say goodbye to a much-loved pet, especially one that has been part of the family for such a long time.
Former Good Morning Britain host Piers is currently going through that heartache along with his parents, as their beloved dog Kezzy has died at 14, or the ripe old age of 98 in ‘dog years’.
The presenter revealed his gentler side today as he paid tribute to his parents’ loyal pet on Instagram, praising her loyal and affectionate nature.
Sharing an adorable photograph of the dog relaxing on the sofa, Piers wrote: ‘RIP Kezzy, 14.
‘My parents’ wonderfully good-natured, intuitive, loyal, empathetic and lovable dog.
‘She will be greatly missed by all of us.’
The post has been met with an outpouring of compassion from other animal lovers across the UK, with hundreds of comments offering condolences and sharing their own memories of their past pets.
‘I know what this day is like,’ one person wrote, while another said: ‘So hard when we lose a fur baby, they leave a huge hole when they go.’
‘So hard, love to all’, one wrote, while another said: ‘Run free over [rainbow] bridge beautiful girl’.
One commenter issuing condolences said: ‘Dogs don’t live long enough! They’re your favourite hello and saddest goodbye.’
The Irish-born presenter famously left Good Morning Britain in March of this year but is set to make an explosive return to TV as he joins NewsUK’s new channel, TalkTV.
Piers recently put out a call for creatives to apply for jobs on the show, including producers, editors and writers, but insisted he doesn’t want any ‘annoying woke snowflakes’ working for him.
