A man has admitted to the manslaughter of his millionaire step-father – but denied murder.

Thomas Schreiber, 34, is accused of intentionally killing hotelier Sir Richard Sutton, 83, who was one of the UK’s richest men.

His plea was named ‘unacceptable’ by the prosecution who said a trial would go ahead on November 29.

Schreiber, who has been remanded in custody, also pleaded not guilty to the attempted murder of his mother Anne Schreiber.

However, he admitted driving a Range Rover dangerously on the A303, A4 and M3 at Winchester Crown Court.

Ms Schreiber was found with serious injuries after being stabbed in the same incident in which her partner died.
